Dane BORBY (Flemming Borby) has for a long time been known as a great songwriting talent in the indie pop genre. But with his new album he has been challenging himself in a new musical direction, what has resulted in an instrumental album in the neoclassical genre.

During the corona lockdown there was, for many people, a lot of time to do other things than normal, and for many artists it was a welcome opportunity to dig deeper in their creativity.

And one morning, during this time, BORBY was sitting in his home studio in Berlin, and with nothing better to do, he opened his computer and soloed the instrumental tracks of the song ”Stay With Me” from his new album ”I've Been Waiting For You”.
Right away the idea to create a new musical piece out of these instrumental tracks appeared in his mind, and he started immediately to work on it.
Thats how the title piece THE FRAGRANCE entered this world.
The motivation to do more pieces like this, out of the instrumental tracks from the ”I've Been Waiting For You” album was settled, and with grants from the german composers collecting society GEMA, new arrangements for the rest of the songs were written, and additional musicians were invited to fullfill the tracks.

It has resulted in 6 new instrumental musical pieces to be found on this new album THE FRAGRANCE, and the album can as so be characterized as a twin album to the album ”I'Ve Been Waiting For You”
